Over 50 Geospatial developers from around the world gathered in-person for the 3rd annual Open Standards and Open Source Software Code Sprint at Camptocamp’s Basecamp office in Bussigny, Switzerland from April 25 to 27, 2023.

Co-hosted by the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC), the Apache Software Foundation (ASF), the Open Source Geospatial Foundation (OSGeo), and Camptocamp SA, the goal of the event was to advance support and development of open geospatial standards within the developer community and to support the development of new applications and open standards.

“Camptocamp is a proud member of the international geospatial developer community, and we were so grateful to have the opportunity to host our colleagues and friends from around the world for these three days of collaboration and coding,” says Emmanuel Belo, Head of Geospatial at Camptocamp. “We hope that the event was a catalyst for some exciting new discoveries and connections.”

The Code Sprint covered multiple ASF and OSGeo projects, as well as related OGC Standards - including OGC API Standards. Participants engaged in coding activities, testing, working on documentation, and reporting issues. The Code Sprint’s mentor stream also provided developers the opportunity to begin using the standards and projects, with the hope of building an engagement that would continue past the code sprint.

This event was made possible with the support of Ordnance Survey as well as co-sponsors HEIG-VD, EPFL, the University of Lausanne, and the Cantons of Neuchâtel and Vaud.
