From September 1, 2022, Camptocamp is adding another Swiss location by moving our base camp office to Bussigny where we’ll join one of our oldest clients, QoQa, in their new project to create an open and community-minded office park at the QG Center. Our EPFL location will now serve as home to a dedicated research and development team.

Camptocamp teams are growing

This decision follows a period of significant expansion for the business. In just the last two years, our teams have grown by more than 25%, and the move means that we’ll have 3x more office space with a focus on collaborative working areas.

“At Camptocamp, we’re always up for an adventure,” explains Co-founder Luc Maurer. “So when QoQa approached us five years ago about sharing an office space that would allow us to rethink the way that we work and join a dynamic community of like-minded businesses, we were all in.”

Camptocamp’s commitment to soft mobility

As a company that believes that soft mobility is the future, the new office offers interesting connections to public transportation for employees commuting from across Switzerland as well as charging stations for electric bikes and cars. According to a recent survey, over 70% of Camptocamp employees expect to take advantage of a mobility plan that incentivizes soft mobility and commute to the office – at least in part – by public transport or bike.

“Our story began in the mountains, so it’s only natural that concern for sustainability is at the heart of how we think about our business,” says Claude Philipona, Camptocamp co-founder and avid cyclist. “We wanted our new location to make it as easy as possible for our teams to put this shared value for sustainability into practice.”

Hybrid work at Camptocamp

Long before the COVID pandemic upended in-office work arrangements, Camptocamp offered flexible work arrangements to its employees that included part-time roles, work-from-home freedom, and remote-work options for teammates who needed to spend part of the year in another location.

“Our colleagues are more than the jobs they do – many are passionate about sports, special hobbies, or spending time with their families. We remain committed to flexible arrangements that allow them to find a balance that works for them,” insists Luc Maurer. “With our new space at the QG Center, we want to make sure that the time they do spend in the office is effective for extraordinary collaboration and connection with colleagues. This is why we invested in ample meeting rooms, open social spaces, and, perhaps most importantly, a beer tap and a state-of-the-art coffee machine,” he continues with a smile.

The Bussigny flagship location will serve as the rallying point for Camptocamp employees across Switzerland, France and Germany. In just three weeks after the move, the company will welcome the entire global 150-person team to the QG community space for its annual Staff Meeting.

In additional to the Lausanne (EPFL) and Bussigny locations, Camptocamp also has an office in Olten, Switzerland, Paris and Chambéry, France, as well as Munich, Germany.
