FOSDEM is a great conference dedicated to free and open source software projects. It is entirely free and run by volunteers. The topic of interests are very broad: infrastructure, programming languages, GNU/Linux distributions, geospatial… to cite only a few.
This year, for the second time, there was a Geospatial devroom, where people could exchange on a lot of subjects.
Guillaume Beraudo gave a talk on OL3-Cesium, a library for adding 3D to an OpenLayers map (see the slides and video here). His talk was illustrated by two great projects: the 3D version of Schweizmobil and the 3D version of Geoadmin (code source). He was pleased to find a very interested audience and to be asked a lot of questions. 3D topic seems to be getting more and more traction and he is looking forward to the advances we will achieve in 2016.
Camptocamp would like to thanks all the organizers and the team of volunteers. You are doing an awesome work!
