About Camptocamp
Created in 2001, Camptocamp is an editor and integrator of Open Source Software specializing in three main areas: Geospatial, Business et Infrastructure. Based on the confirmed competencies of its founding members in new information technologies and on an extremely sharp technical know-how, our company offers a complete set of services (Consulting, R&D, Training, Support).
Camptocamp is a European reference in the development and integration of Open Source software related to its business divisions.
A Franco-Swiss company with a European dimension
Camptocamp is established in Switzerland (Lausanne) and in France (Chambéry). It employs highly qualified and quality-driven professionals, who inspire,master and challenge Open Source solutions. Our three teams work in synergy, merging their resources and competencies.
Since its creation, Camptocamp has quickly become a European reference in the development and integration of Open Source software focusing on Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
Today, thanks to its experience, competencies and professionalism, Camptocamp is a leader in the realm of Open Source Geographic Information Systems.
Our business divisions
Camptocamp is editor and integrator of Open Source software in three main areas.
Camptocamp continuously develops an extremely sharp technical know-how in data interoperability and Geospatial Solutions. It has been an associated member of the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) since 2005. Camptocamp is also an active contributor in the development of software components within the Open Source Geospatial foundation (OSGeo) and the main editor of the WebGIS solution, MapFish.
Open Source developments are also made in the area of Business Solutions, mainly OpenERP and Talend Open Studio. Camptocamp is one of the most active partners to develop software components for these solutions.
The Infrastructure Solutions are a complementary and essential business division. Camptocamp develops solutions in various areas of expertise based on system administration such as cloud computing and virtualization.
Service-oriented Open Source editor
Camptocamp offers a complete set of services including Expertise, Project development, Training and Support.
Camptocamp helps its clients move forward in every part of their businesses; our staff is committed to provide them with advice, technological reports, R&D services, and sharp technical expertise. Camptocamp offers its technical know-how in software development made within communautary projects or within specific customer projects. Through its training offers, Camptocamp conveys its knowledge in a large spectrum of themes (about 40) to users and developers. Finally, Camptocamp offers its clients Open Source technical support which includes an editor's guarantee on corrective and evolutive maintenance components of Open Source software it helps develop.

Our network and partners
Camptocamp is an affiliate of the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC). The Open Geospatial Consortium, Inc.® (OGC – www.opengeospatial.org) is a non-profit, international, voluntary consensus standards organization which is leading the development of standards for geospatial and location based services. It also support interoperable solutions that "geo-enable" the Web, wireless and location-based services, and mainstream IT. The specifications empower technology developers to make complex spatial information and services accessible and useful with all kinds of applications. Being an associate OGC member since 2005, Camptocamp is very familiar with OGC norms and has been applying these norms in its solutions since its creation. The OGC adhesion represents for Camptocamp a great strategic step in data interoperability and geospatial services: OGC guarantees a direct and complete access to documents and workgroups. As a result, Camptocamp is informed about the evolutions of current and future international standards and helps clients move forward in every part of their businesses with the latest GIS technologies.
Camptocamp is a partner of the Open Source Geospatial Foundation (OSGeo). The Open Source Geospatial Foundation (OsGeo - www.osgeo.org) has been created to support and build the highest-quality Open Source geospatial software. The foundation’s goal is to encourage the use and collaborative development of community-led projects. Camptocamp representatives actively participated in the creation of OsGeo in February 2006 and have invested themselves in joint developments of different Open Source components promoted by OsGeo.
Camptocamp is a member of April and Afigéo. Our company also has a business activity agreement with the European Spatial Agency (ESA)
Camptocamp is a Gold Partner of OpenERP and an OEM partner of Talend.
Technological partnership initiatives with LIRIS laboratory (INSA, Lyon) and INOVA, an Italian company, have been undertaken by Camptocamp on GeoBI (Business Intelligence).
