Lately, several Swiss data producers announced the availability of WMS server with high resolution data that can be used for open digitization of OpenStreetMap features:
- "Système d’Information du Territoire Neuchâtelois- SITN": WMS server with high resolution aerial imagery of Canton de Neuchâtel is available and open for digitization of OSM features since 2009-06-04. More info .
- "Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne – EPFL": WMS server with very detailed campus data and aerial imagery of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology – Lausanne – EPFL is available for digitization of OSM features since 2009-06-04. More info .
- "Système d’Information du Territoire Genevois – SITG": WMS server with high resolution aerial imagery of Canton de Genève is available and open for digitization of OSM features since 2009-06-15. More info .
These high quality data source will certainly contribute to rapildy increase the quantity and quality of OSM data for those regions. Let’s hope that other donations and/or WMS access will be available in the future for other part of Switzerland.
